This session ended on 9 Kythorn 1372 game-time and was played on 11 May 2002 (?)More first person from Cecil:

"So Karn and I headed for the forest. We were hurt pretty badly by a wolverine who attacked us, but we made it out ok. Once we reached the forest, we came across an elf. He asked why we were there and brought him us to their leader. It turns out these guys guarded the sightless rose for some reason. After hearing our story, they let us have the petal and we left.

"When we arrived back at Franch's, Rurik and Wan had already returned. They got the pegasus feather, but on the way back, strangely forgot everything that had happened. We stayed in the guest room, but awoke to find ourselves barricaded in. We got the door open and saw that the place had been ransacked. Franch was nowhere to be found, but we did find a potion. Apparently, Franch had already mixed what he had so far. A note was scribbled to the effect that he had worked out that the potion would work without the Halco stone, but may have side effects. The townspeople knew nothing of what happened to Franch or his home.

"In frustration, Rurik drank the potion. Both he and Wan collapsed to the ground. Karn and I dragged them to an inn room. They awoke three hours later in their own bodies. Karn and I decided to wait in case there were any non-apparent side effects. Franch found us shortly thereafter and said that he had worked out that the potion's side effect would have either been fainting for a while or losing an ear. I drank the potion, and blackness enveloped me. I slept strangely, and three hours later was in my body again, as was Karn.

"But where were Matthias and Aeron? We didn't know at the time, of course, but piecing it together after the fact, at this point, I believe they were breaking out of a jail cell and collecting their supplies and equipment, sans Halco stone. They had traveled to Thay mount by boat, accompanied by a sorcerer named Robert Tregre. Travelling back, Halco stone in tow, they were apprehended by the city guard of --Elbar? Ethelbar? Something like that-- for...well, I can't remember what they said about that either. They broke out by hiding daggers and using a Sleep spell on the guards, followed by another spell to retrieve the key. Apparently, the organization Karn was in, known to us only as the Black Robes, whether by bribing the guards or through control of the local government had..."commandeered" the stone for it's own purposes. Not knowing that it wasn't really important for the potion (and at least somewhat for revenge and to stop whatever dark purpose they had in mind for it), they were out to get it back.

"Meanwhile, there was somewhat of a ruckus going on in town. Numerous people were screaming something about people overruning the town. Seeing a handful of armed men on horses and two unconscious guards, I leaped into the saddle and charged at them, scoring a good hit. I could see that some of the others were concerned about whether these guys were in fact the cause of the commotion, but I had little doubt. They certainly weren't guards, and given the way they looked and rode, they proably weren't adventurers trying to stop the commotion. Besides, when the safety and welfare of so many are at stake, you don't have much time to mull over such things. I was knocked out during the fight, but not before doing some heavy damage to them. I was raised with a healing potion, and fought some more, making sure not to kill any of them. We took down about four. One ran away, and two surrendered."
